Sales Tax Policy
Last updated: 6/24/26
Valendrua is registered with the California Department of Tax and Fee Administration (CDTFA) and holds a valid California seller's permit. This policy explains how and when sales tax is applied to your order.
Where we collect sales tax
Valendrua is based in California and collects California sales and use tax on taxable orders shipped to addresses within the state. We also collect sales tax in any other state where we are required to do so. Where tax applies, it is calculated and itemized automatically at checkout based on your shipping address.
How sales tax is calculated
California's statewide base sales tax rate is 7.25%. Many cities and counties add district taxes on top of that base, so the total rate applied to your order depends on the destination it ships to. Because of this, the exact tax amount is determined at checkout once your shipping address is entered, and the final figure is shown before you complete your purchase.
Taxable items
Under California law, clothing and apparel are generally subject to sales tax. The tax shown at checkout reflects the taxable value of the items in your order, including any applicable charges, in accordance with state and local rules.
Orders shipped outside California
For orders shipped to other states, sales tax is applied only where Valendrua is registered and required to collect it. If no tax is charged at checkout for your destination, you may still be responsible for reporting and paying use tax directly to your own state's tax authority, depending on local law.
Tax-exempt and resale purchases
Valendrua sells at retail to individual customers. We do not currently process tax-exempt or resale purchases through our store. If you believe you qualify for an exemption, contact us before placing your order and we will let you know what, if anything, we are able to accommodate.
